Cities as classrooms in Radlje ob Dravi
On 9 October 2026, Smart Institute held the Slovenian Multiplier Event of the Erasmus+ project Urban Expeditio: AI-assisted learning adventure. The event took place at the Municipality of Radlje ob Dravi and addressed teachers and educators directly.
Two groups met at one table. The first group had already taken part in Smart Institute’s piloting. The second group was new to the project and wanted to try the AI tools. The programme kept the presentation to 45 minutes and gave 1 hour 45 minutes to hands-on work and discussion.
Project results, ready for the classroom
Igor Razbornik opened the event with an introduction to the consortium. Six partners from Poland, Serbia, Italy, Slovenia, Greece and Türkiye work together, coordinated by a secondary school in Warsaw. Borut Razbornik then presented the results that teachers can use in class now:
Teachers’ Handbook and Competence Framework: six modules, one from each partner organisation, with a Slovenian version.
EXPEDITIO Academy: the e-learning platform, shown in a live walkthrough of the Slovenian course.
AI Toolkit: task types, rubrics and the TreasureTask Architect assistant.
The presentation closed with two pilot results. In Radlje ob Dravi, 17 students aged 16-18 tested the treasure hunt “Whispers of the River and the Town”. In the beta test of the platform, 86% of testers across the partnership rated it good or excellent.
Urban Expeditio comes home: Multiplier Event at the 6th Lyceum of Chalandri, Athens
On 28 September 2026, the 6th General Lyceum of Chalandri in Athens hosted the Greek Multiplier Event of Urban Expeditio – AI-assisted learning adventure. More than 80 people attended, most of them teachers, parents and representatives of the parents’ association. They came to learn how the project combines adventure learning with artificial intelligence to bring the city into the classroom, and the classroom into the city.
The people who lived the project told its story. Teachers of the school described their journey: training in Slovenia, piloting the methodology with their own students in Greece, and the learning mobility in Potenza, Italy, including the AI-assisted urban treasure hunt. Three students then shared their experience in Potenza. They spoke about working in international teams, solving challenges in an unfamiliar city with the help of AI tools, and how the experience strengthened their confidence, teamwork and digital skills.
The event closed with an open discussion on how the Urban Expeditio approach can continue in the school. Participants talked about involving more teachers and designing interdisciplinary activities across subjects, using the project’s Teachers’ Handbook and the EXPEDITIO Academy platform. Participants received a printed Greek leaflet about the project and Urban Expeditio sports caps, and the discussion carried on informally over refreshments.
